SCOREKEEPERS WANTED

Southern California ASA is looking to add to their group of scorekeepers this year for Men's Fast Pitch and selected Women's Fast Pitch and selected Adult Slow Pitch Tournaments.

Basic scorekeeping knowledge and wanting to be at the fields is all that is needed to be part of the group. The game is entered into scorekeeping software via Palm Pilots while the game is being played, eliminating the use of scorebooks for the more comfortable scorekeeper. By using the software, stats are available at the field and provide complete reports on the Internet in a more timely manner. Also, by using the software, the scorekeepers are no longer responsible for the boring job of totaling the final stats each game... a press of the button completes this task for you.

Southern California ASA will provide training on the software prior to the start of the season for those who are interested. The first training session will be held in late February. The amount of games that you will work on a given weekend will be decided by the number of games in the tournament and scorekeepers available. Scheduling is done during the week of each event on the time availability of the scorekeepers. Scorekeepers who use the automated devices are paid $12 per game and receive payment after their last game is worked for the weekend.

Anyone interested in becoming a scorekeeper should contact Lead Scorer, Jan Tokorcheck, for more information and to find out when the next training session is scheduled.
